Spiritual, Spritual!

The Brave is a name you may have heard before. Like Enigma, he shies from the limelight, but the evidence of his work speaks volumes. Think Sacred Spirit. Think b-tribe. He has, in fact, been around since the early 1980s working with artists such as Chaka Khan. I kid you not!

This latest installment of the b-tribe project has The Brave living in Ibiza, and on a new record label (Higher Octave). The result? A High Definition CD (HDCD) quality recording and, well, not much else really.

Spiritual Spiritual will appease those who warmed to the ambience of the previous album, Sensual Sensual (there's a double word pattern going on!) which was released 3 years ago. As with it's predecessor this album will gently pick you up and allow you to float away on a soothing journey. Those of you wanting to be challenged will be disappointed though. Instead of Spanish vocals this time around we get interpretations of classical pieces (Adagio in G-minor). The rest is pretty much similar fare to the previous recording - melodic, well produced, relaxing. 

Not that it's a bad thing. For b-tribe still has a niche that few artists have tried to mimic. As long as you're not a b-tribe fan who wants to be challenged, Spiritual Spiritual will be a welcome addition to your collection.
